In times of flood, watercourses carry considerable amounts of trash and trash screens are provided at several thousand sites to collect trash and to protect key river structures. This note reviews the contents and findings of report 300/2/T (Design and operation of trash screens - Phase 2), which reviews the national effectiveness of both hand and mechanically raked trash screens.
