Abstract
Relates to Wykamol CM8 Cavity Drain Membrane, a translucent high-density polyethylene (HDPE) membrane for damp-proofing walls, floors and ceilings in new construction or in existing buildings. It can be used above and below ground, over a contaminated or damp background, to support a dry lining or flooring. The 700 g·m–² system may also be used as part of a gas protection system to restrict the ingress of radon. Key factors assessed were mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, and durability.
