Abstract
Refers to IndiBreathe Flex for Timber Frame Constructions, a hemp and jute fibre insulation slab used in external walls of both new and existing domestic and non-domestic buildings, subject to height restrictions, and can be installed between inner leaf studs of conventional timber frame walls with timber cladding or a masonry outer leaf. Key factors assessed were mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, durability.
