Covers: researching the development site; checking the development class; checking whether a flood risk assessment is needed and if one is provided; checking if information on sustainable drainage systems is needed and if it is provided; sequential and exception tests; when to consult the lead local flood authority; when to consult the Environment Agency or follow standing advice; flood zones 1, 2, 3 or 3b; informing the applicant about other permits or consents; and what needs to be checked in an assessment.
