Abstract
Relates to RTEC 4 Ground Gas Membrane, a multilayer thermoplastic membrane used for damp-proof membrane (DPM) and a gas-resistant membrane in concrete ground floors, above and below slabs not subject to hydrostatic pressure, to protect the building against moisture, radon, methane and carbon dioxide from the ground. Key factors assessed were mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, and durability.
