Abstract

Relates to Unilin Xtroliner Underfloor Insulation (XO/UF), comprising rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam boards with a textured aluminium foil-facing on both sides, for use as insulation in ground-bearing or suspended concrete ground floors or between the joists of suspended timber ground-floors, in new and existing domestic buildings. Key factors assessed were mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, durability.
