Abstract

Presents FIA guidance for safely investigating fire alarm signals in Scotland, taking effect from 1 July 2023, based on the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, call challenge response policy. Sets out the reason for guidance, the FIA approach to avoidance of risk, factors to be considered in pre-planning, Scottish specific requirements, pre-determined number of nominated persons present, not present, single nominated person or no nominated person present, health and safety, and staff reassurance factors. Also includes a checklist for dutyholders and glossary.
