Presents the design principles, selection and requirements for highway drainage design. Also covers climate change, storm flows and flood risk, drainage from adjacent land, road geometry, pollution and flow control design.

Design of highway drainage systems 2016 (HE, 2016) and TA 80/99 Geotechnics and drainage. Drainage. Surface drainage of wide carriageways 1999 (HA, 1999). Design manual for roads and bridges (DMRB). Version 0 dated Oct 2019 - replaces HD 33/16 and TA 80/99. Version 1 dated Dec 2019, with minor revision to Table 8.6.4N3. Also Clause 4.10 has been deleted. Version 2 dated Mar 2020 - updates references and typographical corrections and deletion of Clause 3.9. Version 2.1.0 dated August 2022 - incremental changes to requirements. Mainly various corrections to Sections 3 (reflecting former HD 33/15 content, clauses 3.16 to 3.19), and 7 (clauses 7.5 to 7.7). Several editorial and drafting rules compliance corrections.
