Abstract
Sets out the main factors for inclusive design in pedestrian and transport infrastructure. Covers mobility and vision impairments and considerations for wheelchair users and walking distances. Crossing facilities, footways and footpaths are discussed along with contrasts, clearances, safety and protection options, shared use routes and street furniture, and use of materials. Also covers change in level, tactile paving, cycling, car parking, bus stops, taxi ranks, transport buildings and facilities, wayfinding, lighting and access in the countryside.
