Abstract
The research project explores the potential for improvement in energy and emissions within Scottish building regulations for domestic buildings. The 4 main tasks areas were: establishing the current baseline, creating improved notional building specifications, setting modelling options and conducting a full cost benefit analysis. Two options were trialled, with Option 1 using improvements to the fabric efficiency of the notional building along with using waste water heat recovery and Option 2 also used triple glazing and mechanical ventilation along with heat recovery.
