Abstract
Comprises a letter issued by Scotland's Chief Planner on the Direction which requires planning authorities to advise Scottish Ministers when they receive any applications relating to commercial peatland extraction. The Direction has been issued in view of the national importance of peatlands and peatland restoration in contributing to the objective of addressing climate change.
