Abstract
Establishes methods for calculating traffic loading used in road pavement design. Covers commercial vehicle flows in new and existing road schemes, looks at the design period, growth and wear factors, the percentage of commercial vehicles in the heaviest loaded lanes and in other lanes and the design traffic.

This full document has been re-written to make it compliant with Highways England drafting rules and has also been updated and simplified.
