Comprises more detailed agglomeration data accompanying the Noise Action Plan prepared by DEFRA for large urban areas (agglomerations), complementing those published for roads (including major roads) and railways (including major railways). These Action Plans have been prepared to fulfil the relevant obligations in the Environmental Noise (England) Regulations 2006, as amended which transpose Directive 2002/49/EC on the assessment and management of environmental noise (noise arising from roads, rail, aviation and industry), known as the Environmental Noise Directive.
