Abstract
Sets out progress made in the government's 25 year environment plan and what further action will be taken. Covers: clean air; clean and plentiful water; thriving plants and wildlife; reduced risk from environmental hazards such as drought or flooding; using resources more sustainably; enhanced beauty, heritage and engagement with the natural environment; mitigating and adapting to climate change; minimising waste; managing exposure to chemicals; enhancing biosecurity; environmental legislation; funding, financing and incentivising improvement in natural capital; global leadership on the environment; supporting strong local leadership and delivery; inspiring action; and measuring progress.

Includes a correction to page 51 - chapter 7.2: "The UK is already ahead of the Montreal Protocol requirements, having started to phase down hydrofluorocarbons since 2016 and most recently cutting hydrofluorocarbons usage by 37% since 2018, against a baseline period of 2015 - 2017." The 37% cut was made against a baseline period of 2009 to 2012.
