Abstract

Follows on from Research Report 5 Value of planning published by the RTPI in 2014. Looks at the relationship between planning and sustainable economic growth and housing. Also puts forward reasons for why the value of planning in practice in the UK is not as good as in parts of Europe. Covers: planning in a contemporary context and how it has evolved over time; planning processes, delivery and creating public value; realising the value of planning; and a review of planning powers to deliver public value.
