Provides advice on legislation, procedures and good practice in development management in Northern Ireland. Discusses notification and call in of applications, highlighting: the legislative context; applications likely to be affected; notification direction for major applications; notification direction for councils' own applications; process for calling in applications from councils; information requested; submission to the Department for Infrastructure (DfI); DfI's consideration; significant objection/departure from area plan; processing of a call-in application by the DfI; process; informing an applicant; directions requiring consideration of condition; appealing a call in decision; altering a direction/changing a notification; registry; listed building consent; conservation area consent; advertising consent; hazardous substance consent; and transitional arrangements.
