Comprises a briefing on output from a European research programme (ESPON) projects ECR2 (Economic Crisis: Resilience of Regions) and TOWN (Small and Medium Sized Towns in their Functional Territorial Context) specifically around increasing resilience to economic shocks in towns. Sets out the main findings using Colwyn Bay and Tredegar as examples, and includes key messages for policy and practice.
