Abstract

An analysis of the supply chain in the construction industry. The objectives of the study were: to identify areas where cost savings can be made in UK construction supply chains and the barriers to achieving those savings; to identify elements of the UK construction supply chain that tend to be imported and understand why domestic firms are not competing; and to recommend actions that Government and industry can take to improve competitiveness of UK construction companies by overcoming barriers to the achievement of cost savings in construction supply chains.
