Abstract
Introduces construction professionals to the importance of understanding wildlife, ecology and the impact the construction industry has on them. Examines the concepts, consequences, surveying and assessment and puts them into context through understanding the legislative and regulatory controls that exist. Also explores the various organisations and groups involved with conservation and explains their roles. A final section relates to practicalities in the office and on site.
