Explains: how sustainability considerations have been integrated into the UK marine policy statement (MPS); how the appraisal of sustainability (AoS) report has been taken into account in the preparation of the MPS; how opinions expressed in response to the consultations on the draft MPS and the AoS report have been taken into account in the preparation of the MPS; the reasons for choosing the MPS, as adopted, in the light of other reasonable alternatives dealt with; and the measures that are to be taken to monitor the significant environmental and other sustainability effects of implementation of the MPS.
