Abstract
Aimed at those with an interest or responsibility for providing adequate fire protection within steel framed buildings. This advisory note warns that current practices adopted in structural frame design drawings and schedules for specification of fire resistance performance may be inadequate. Explains the background, considers the reliability of fire protection and offers suggestions to ensure adequate specification of fire protection to steel members.
