Letters to Chief Planning Officers
Comprises a letter to Chief Planning Officers providing an update on the current position of a series of proposals stemming from the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 which were included in the consultation document, issued in July 2006, entitled ‘Changes to the Development Control System in Wales’ (2006) that put forward a number of proposals for changes to the development control (management). These included related proposed changes to the Use Classes Order, the General Development Procedure Order, the General Permitted Development Order and Listed Building Regulations. Also provides update on the Assembly Government’s position in relation to the reforms to the town and country planning regime in Part 9 of the Planning Act 2008 (where the Assembly Government has either the power to commence the reform for Wales or the power to apply it to Wales).
