Project Report
Relates work undertaken to develop an algorithm to identify fretting on hot rolled asphalt (HRA) surfaces using laser-measured transverse profile. This is derived from a methodology previously developed for application to individual lines of texture profile data, and is here expanded to make use of data from twenty-five profile lasers, portraying the subject in three dimensions. Assesses the algorithm’s performance in determining the severity of the fretting across an entire carriageway.
