Abstract

Sets out the results of research commissioned by the Department of the Environment, and undertaken by the EIA Centre, Department of Planning and Landscape, University of Manchester. The aims of this research were, broadly, to report on the existing monitoring arrangements for planning cases subject to environmental assessment in England, Wales and Scotland, and to comment on the operation of the existing system and procedures for environmental assessment.
