Abstract
Identifies environmental good practice in the design and installation of oil storage tanks, particularly in the prevention of water pollution. Oil storage tank systems of steel or plastic construction up to 140,000 litres are reviewed, as is the use of mobile oil storage bowsers. Includes recommendations for the development of manufacturing standards, test procedures and performance standards for overfill prevention devices.
