These include impairment of bond strength, reduction of the reinforcement cross-section, and adverse influence on durability and appearance. Mechanical damage is a further consideration. The Report gives advice on good practice to avoid such problems. It provides guidance on assessing reinforcement that has been affected and describes available remedial treatments.
