Abstract
Deals with the development control provisions of part nine and schedule fifteen of the Local Government Planning and Land Act, 1980. Topics covered include allocation of development control functions, consultation between district and council planning authorities, revised arrangements for dealing with departures from development plans, development by government departments, the right of appeal, orders to define an area of specified control of advertisements and tree preservation orders. Also contains advice on the Health Service Act 1980, discussing control of hospital building outside the national health service and the links between hospital building control and planning legislation.
