Abstract

Provides design requirements for constructing new pavements, widening, upgrading or reconstructing existing carriageways on UK motorways and all-purpose trunk roads. Also covers design outputs, use of recycled materials and the pavement design report.

Version 0.1.0 - dated November 2021 - changes to core document and England NAA, equation 2.43a corrected. Version 0.2.0 - dated September 2025. Incremental changes to requirements, based on 4 years experience of using CD 226, cyclic review and updates to the MCHW.
