Abstract

Relates to a lightweight, non-combustible, unfaced glass mineral wool batt for use as full fill thermal insulation in external masonry cavity walls of domestic and non-domestic buildings up to 25 metres in height. The product is treated with a silicon-based water-repellent additive and is available in a wider range of thicknesses, including options for multi-layer installation. Key factors assessed include thermal performance, water resistance, condensation risk, fire behaviour, durability, and compliance with updated Building Regulations covering energy efficiency, sustainability, and nearly zero-energy building standards.
