Abstract
Relates to a lightweight, non-combustible, unfaced glass mineral wool batt for use as full fill thermal insulation in external masonry cavity walls of domestic and non-domestic buildings up to 25 metres in height. The product is treated with a silicon-based water-repellent additive and may be installed in single or multiple layers. Key factors assessed include thermal performance, water resistance, condensation risk, fire behaviour, and durability. The product complies with updated Building Regulations including requirements for nearly zero-energy buildings, CO₂ emission targets, fabric energy efficiency, and sustainability standards, contributing to bronze and higher levels of sustainability under Scottish Building Standards.
