Provides application guidance for fire detection and fire alarm system door release mechanisms, based on the recently updated: BS 7273-4:2015+A2:2023. Covers typical applications, detector siting and spacing, risk assessment, critical signal path, scope, actuation categories, use of release mechanisms, acoustically activated mechanisms, radio actuated release mechanisms, hold-open and free-swing release mechanisms, connections for release mechanisms, self-contained fire door release mechanisms, power supplies, interconnections, certificates, time delays and testing and maintenance.
