Abstract

Relates to HYBRIS for Timber Frame Walls, a reflective insulation panel made from a honeycomb structure of shaped polyethylene foams and aluminium-coated foils, designed for use between studs in conventional timber frame walls with external cladding or a masonry outer leaf in both new and existing domestic and non-domestic buildings, subject to height restrictions. Key factors assessed were mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, durability.
