Abstract
Relates to a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) membrane for damp-proofing walls, floors and ceilings and as a radon barrier in new construction or in existing buildings. It forms part of the Newton Membrane System and can also be used above ground as damp proofing membranes, over a contaminated or damp background, to support a dry lining or flooring. Key factors assessed were resistance to water and water vapour, resistance to salt transfer, properties in relation to fire, resistance to puncture, impact and loading, and durability.
