Abstract

Provides guidance for engineers using Eurocode 0 Basis of structural design and Eurocode 1 Actions on structures for design of buildings constructed in the UK. Describes in detail the principles and rules contained within these Eurocodes, defines the terms used, sets out the requirements and covers limit state design, actions, verification. Details the guidance given for densities of construction and stored materials, self-weight and imposed loads and barriers or walls. Also covers thermal and mechanical actions on structures exposed to fire and looks at structural fire design procedure.
