Abstract

Letter to Heads of Planning in Scotland which clarifies current procedural expectations regarding the granting of energy consents and related planning permissions. Focuses on three areas: electricity storage, particularly battery installations and the consenting regime; use of Section 42 applications related to development permitted by energy consents; and the Town and Country Planning (Notification of Applications) (Applications Under Section 42) (Scotland) Direction 2020.
