Abstract

Provides design guidance for road pavement foundations covering background information, implementation, Departures from standard, Draft Standard HD 25, draft specification clauses and draft notes for guidance clauses. Based on four foundation classes of road pavement foundations.

History

Wales only IANs are issued by the Welsh Government. They contain specific guidance, to be used only in connection with works on the motorway and trunk road network in Wales. IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW). Applicable to Wales only. Forms a draft HD 25 and supersedes HD 25/94.
