Details the findings from a study into the feasibility of using twin-layer porous asphalt surfaces as a noise mitigation measure in terms of construction, maintenance, performance, resource use, costs, and sustainability issues, based on existing knowledge and experiences outside of the UK as well as the perspective and views of the UK road surfacing industry. Presents benefits and disadvantages. Sets out the resultant recommendations.
