Abstract

Provides quantitative estimates of the national demand, by region, for beach recharge material and of the resources suitable to meet that demand over the next twenty years. Takes into account the requirements of the aggregate industry. Considers the potential for the use in beach recharge of materials other than marine sand and gravel, and highlights the need to locate new sources of shingle.
