Abstract

Provides practical guidance on the role of the planning system in delivering affordable housing. The guidance defines affordable housing for the purposes of this TAN and provides advice to local planning authorities on how to determine affordability. The need to work collaboratively is stressed, including the requirement for housing and planning authorities to undertake local housing market assessments in participation with key stakeholders.
