Abstract

Reviews weather proofing, transmission of moisture, membranes, drained cavities, insulation and fixings. Offers conceptual solutions for timber cladding that is fixed directly to the existing walls via cladding battens, via cladding battens over secondary battens, or self-supporting. Describes cladding over existing masonry-clad buildings where the masonry will be retained.
