Abstract

Local flood risk management is the responsibility of Local Authorities under the Flood and water management act 2010. The guidance aims to ensure a clear understanding of the risks of flooding and erosion, so that investment in risk management can be prioritised. Clear and consistent plans for risk management should be developed so that communities and businesses can make informed decisions about the management of the residual risk.
