Abstract

New consulate general, residential accommodation and British Council headquarters in Hong Kong, strung along the edge of the site, around landscaped grounds. Built on a steeply sloping site, a variety of groundworks were required including caisson walls, retaining walls, ground anchors. Materials include Kirkstons slate, white and dark grey granite, anodised aluminium and green-tinted glass. A variety of approaches to air conditioning are used and the building, designed to meet BREEAM requirements, also satisfies the local OTTV criteria - a measure of energy consumption of the building envelope.
