Abstract

Gives guidance on suitable outlet layouts for different types of surface water channels and provides methods for designing each type according to the flow rate in the channel. It describes layouts for outlets from triangular and trapezoidal surface water channels and provides methods of designing each type according to the flow rate in the channel. Some general recommendations regarding the design of the outfall structures are also given.
