Abstract
Covers in detail the design and construction of slim floors utilising 'Slimflor' beams acting in conjunction with profiled deep decking. This system retains the usual benefits of slim floor construction, but possesses additional advantages over the precast concrete option. The results of a series of full scale tests to determine serviceability and ultimate load carrying capabilities are given. Design tables are included on the spanning capabilities of the slab and beam, together with worked examples which illustrate the design method.
