Describes two methods of verifying the fire resistance of composite steel deck floors. One is a calculation method based on theoretical behaviour; the other, a simplified method has evolved from recent research and can be used for a given range of span and loadings to provide up to 1½ hours fire resistance. Design examples for each method are provided.
