Building Supplement
Report
Compiles BRE's views on the weathertightness of large panel systems (LPS) dwellings. It reviews the nature of weather and how it interacts with buildings, the main modes of weathertightness failure, design principles, investigative and diagnostic methods, and remedial measures for building joints in the exterior envelope. It is restricted to those elements and joints found in large panel system dwellings. The report is addressed to those responsible for restoring and maintaining the weathertightness of the large panel system stock, and takes the form of a checklist of factors to be considered in any remedial or maintenance programme.
