Abstract
Over recent years, a number of studies have suggested that some adverse health effects may be caused by exposure to electric or magnetic fields. The suggested effects include leukaemia, especially in children, and other cancers, as well as minor effects such as headache and depression. This report provides an extensive, but by no means exhaustive, review of literature on the subject, to determine the extent and the seriousness of those effects which have been suggested. Exposure in both domestic and work environments is considered, and problems in study methods, such as measure and duration of dose, are analysed.
