Abstract
Provides guidance on carrying out a habitats regulations assessment (HRA) for a project. Covers: duty to undertake appropriate assessment (AA), the HRA process, HRA stage 1: screening, HRA stage 2: appropriate assessment (AA), HRA stages 3 and 4: assessment of alternatives and consideration of Imperative Reasons of Overriding Public Interest (IROPI), HRA in decision making and relevant legislation.
