Abstract

Defines objective methods for rating the transmission quality of speech with respect to intelligibility. Concerns four closely-related methods intended for rating speech transmission with or without sound systems: STI, STITEL and STIPA methods. Surveys other methods of determining or predicting speech intelligibility and includes a method of correlating the results of different methods of determination.
