Architects' Journal Building Study
Abstract
Allies and Morrison’s Dock Shed is one of the first new builds to complete within the Canada Water Masterplan, combining flexible workspace and a council-run public leisure centre. Designed to evoke the timber drying sheds that once occupied the site, it features sawtooth rooflines, articulated steel facades, and exposed industrial trusses. The building meets protected view height constraints while incorporating sustainable features like a low-carbon steel frame and rooftop PV arrays, achieving BREEAM Outstanding and NABERS 4.5 ratings. Includes: Project data section, Architect’s view section, Engineer’s view section, Sustainability data sections, Working detail section, Client's view, Performance data. Architect: Allies and Morrison
